Age Management Training for HR Practitioners - Enrolling now

BWA's Lead Practice series run through the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) is now in its third year. In 2006, the Lead Practice series will be run in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. The series is conducted over 3 months and requires one day attendance each month. A recent online survey conducted by AHRI found that most respondents indicated their organisations had done little to nothing to address the impact of an ageing workforce on their business, and that those who had done something were limited in their activity to some general awareness raising activities. The Lead Practice series run by BWA is the ideal course for HR practitioners to understand the impacts of ageing on their business.

The seminars cover in-depth:

  • Building the Business Case for Age Management - starting with a detailed exploration of the shifting demographic profile of the Australian populations and the ramifications for business sustainability.

  • Measuring Age in an Organisation - taking participants through the process of auditing age in their own organisation, understanding what key elements should be measured and how to undertake this process.

  • Evaluating Age in an Organisation - Developing a detailed understanding of what the organisational profile is telling you about your business.

  • Building and Implementing a Global Age Management Plan - working from undersatnding to planning and acting on the key age management priorities for your organisation.

Each participant will also receive a comprehensive package of tools and resources with which to implement their Age Management Plan.

This Month's Online Survey

Job Seeker Experience

The survey this month continues to look at the experiences people have when trying to find a new job. What methods have worked well for them and what haven't. How they find professional recruitment companies compared to other methods of job search. We also ask whether people have found their age to be a hindrance when searching for a job. We will be reporting the findings of this survey in our next edition of Down to Business.

Click on the picture above to take the survey. It should only take you about 2 minutes to complete.

Where are we now and where are we going?
